Community grants program winners announced

Winners of SXG's community grants program receive $500 each for community-focussed projects

We’re absolutely delighted to announce our five community grants recipients and their projects!

- Southern Mitchell Rotary: Kilmore Regional Busking Championships.

- The Zonta Club of Broadford: Dignity bags with toiletries and intimate items for women or girls who have nothing or who have fled domestic violence.

- First Broadford Scout Group: Upgrade of interior lighting in the Broadford Scout Hall.

- Kilmore Historical Society: Archival boxes for textile storage.

- Broadford and District Historical Society:  The publication of a booklet about portable police lockups.

Our assessment committee, comprised of SXG staff, community reference group members and residents of neighbouring towns, were blown away by each application we received. A heartfelt thank you to everyone that applied. It was a reminder of the many wonderful and varied programs that exist in our community that support so many.

In addition to the community grants program, we also supported Love in Action - Broadford's Christmas hampers that will be distributed soon to families and individuals to ensure they receive some Christmas cheer - don't they look amazing?!

There are so many wonderful organisations around us who work so hard to address gaps and build stronger, more connected communities. We can't wait to continue our support of them in 2025.
