Industry night connects SXG with university students

SXG highlights the many ways students can enter the exploration and mining industries

Our superstar geologists Angus and Zac flew the Southern Cross Gold flag earlier this week at the AusIMM (Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) Student Meets Industry Night.

The event, organised by AusIMM’s student chapter, brought together around 80 students along with industry and government representatives. It gave mining and exploration representatives the opportunity to discuss their experiences in the industry, why the industry needs young people and the many diverse roles on offer.

The night was us a great way for us to talk to students about issues that are important to them and what a career in exploration or mining could look like. Our conversations ranged from sharing information about our Sunday Creek project and how we incorporate sustainable practices across all aspects of our operations to the future of the mining industry and how automation could be used.

A huge thanks to AusIMM for including us in this fantastic event!
