Working in rural Victoria means at times SXG staff need to know about more than geology.
Some of our team recently completed a level two off road 4wd course to increase their awareness and skills when navigating Clonbinane’s difficult and adverse terrain. The course was run by a qualified trainer and helped staff understand stall, winch and snatch strap recovery as well as tyre changing.
The group also learned how to manage a 4WD vehicle on and off road, hazard perception, load restraints and distribution and how to correctly use recovery gear, as shown in the photo.
Whilst we hope to never have to use these new skills, we’re pleased to drive more confidently and to support our neighbours if a vehicle ever finds itself in a tricky situation.
